Family Counseling

Finding Comfort through Bereavement and Family Counseling

The period of care prior to a loved one’s passing and the time following it are difficult for the entire family. As a part of HomeCare Hospice’s goal for our communities, we have been offering professional bereavement counseling since our doors opened in 2002. We offer a multitude of support programs for our patient’s families geared towards emotional and spiritual counseling, as well as bereavement services. For any questions or concerns you have, caretakers are available to help support you through the duration of the hospice treatment as well as after.

Benefits of Bereavement Counseling

Grief is a very natural response when experiencing great loss. It is recognized that each person manages this process differently, as well. Professional counseling is helpful, as it helps the individual identity and determine the most helpful way to cope. Our counselors help you work through the process of grieving by offering you a truly safe environment to work through the stages on your own terms. It’s important to recognize that your feelings are normal. We are here to support you – regardless of the stage you are in.

Continuing Care

We support both the patient’s well-being as well as that of the patient’s family. HomeCare Hospice remains in contact with your family for up to thirteen months following the loss of a loved one. We make it our mission to continually support our patients’ loved ones. The months following a loss can be difficult — Rest assured, you are not alone. Our professionals will listen and support you in the next phase of your life because our counselors care for your physical, spiritual, and emotional health.
